  3. The quoted prices do not include tipping for the guide and driver.

In recognition of the good service from tour guides, drivers, waiters in high-end restaurants or bellboys, tipping which was once frowned upon has gradually becomeacceptedascommon practice in China as elsewhere in the world. In most Chinese cities, but especially the internationalized metropolis of Beijing, Shanghai,Hong Kong and Macau, and other tourist-famous cities, tipping is very common in tourist areas. In fact it is not a must but will be greatly appreciated by the Chinese. Since tipping is a personal matter, please do not feel uneasy about it. What or when you choose to tip depends entirely on how you rate a service but you are not under any obligation to do so. Here below are some suggestions for tipping:

  • US$ 4 p.p. per day for the guides
  • US$ 2 p.p. per day for drivers
  • US$ 1.5 per piece of luggage check-in or checkout in each city for the bellboys
